This 6-step application cycle allows an effective curative osmosis treatment on your boat.

STEP 1 : The preparation of the support is a step not to be neglected because it conditions the good functioning of the following treatment.

  • Peel the hull by planing or sandblasting.
  • Carry out rinsing cycles (ideally with distilled water or cold rainwater), followed by repeated drying until all traces of salt and soluble residues have been completely removed.
  • Use natural (aeration) or forced (ventilation) drying depending on the season and location
  • Mapping identical samples above and below the waterline to measure and compare changes in humidity levels on a regular basis.

To start the healing process, the humidity level of the hull must not be more than 5% higher than the level found above the waterline (Tramex 2 to 10 /scale1).

ETAPE 2 : Impregnation with Impregard, a wetting and highly adherent resin which allows to reconstitute the sheathing of the damaged glass fibres.

  • Apply a greasy layer with a brush or stiff-bristle roller
  • Make sure that the resin penetrates into all surface crevices.

STEP 3 : Apply a second layer of Impregard for insulation

  • After drying, sand the entire surface with 80 grit in order to trim any fibres protruding from the surface by "wicking".

This operation is essential to avoid any risk of moisture regained by capillary action.

  • Apply a 2nd coat of Impregard with a roller or airless sprayer.

STEP 4 : Apply a coat of Epoxygard primer

This layer gives a hard and uniform background. It reveals hull defects before coating.

STEP 5 : Coating (optional)

Fast drying ROSE WATERTIGHT ROSE coating for thin layers (5mm) and local repairs (density 1).
FILLER BLUE plaster for heavy thicknesses and profiling of large surfaces (density 0.8)

ETAPE 6 : Protection and finishes

Apply 4 to 5 coats of Epoxygard, epoxy moisture protection primer by tiling the components within the film.
Apply 2 coats of Nautix antifouling: A4Yachting hard matrix or A3Yachting self-polishing matrix
